Reissue of Passport under Tatkaal Scheme

An applicant who wishes to submit the application for reissue of passport under TATKAAL scheme, he/ she shall be required to submit 03 supporting documents (only 02 supporting documents in case of minor applicant) from among those listed in the government’s gazette notification G.S.R. 933 (E) dated 16th December 2019.

List of documents accepted:

(a) If an applicant of the age of 18 years and above desires to obtain passport under Tatkaal Scheme, he/ she shall submit any three of the following documents, namely:-

  1. Aadhaar Card or e-Aadhaar containing the 12-digit Aadhaar number or 28-digit Aadhaar enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI);
  2. Electors Photo Identify Card (EPIC);
  3. Permanent Account Number (PAN);
  4. Driving licence (valid and within the jurisdiction of State of submission of applicant);
  5. Bank Passbook or Kisan Passbook or Post Office Passbook;
  6. Student Photo Identity Card issued by a recognised educational institution;
  7. Birth Certificate issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (18 of 1969);
  8. Service Photo Identity Card issued by State Government or Central Government, public sector undertakings, local bodies or public limited companies;\
  9. Pension document such as ex-servicemen’s Pension Book or Pension Payment Order issued to retired Government employees, ex- servicemen’s widow or dependent certificate, old age pension order;
  10. Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Class Certificate;
  11. Arms Licence issued under the Arms Act, 1959 (54 of 1959);
  12. Ration Card; and
  13. Last passport issued (in case of reissue only)

(b) If an applicant below the age of 18 years desires to obtain passport under the Tatkaal Scheme, he/ she shall submit any two of the following documents, namely:-

  1. Aadhaar Card or e-Aadhaar containing the 12-digit Aadhaar number or 28-digit Aadhaar enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI);
  2. Permanent Account Number (PAN);
  3. Student Photo Identity Card issued by a recognised educational institution;
  4. Birth Certificate issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (18 of 1969);
  5. Ration Card; and
  6. Last passport issued (in case of reissue only)

Eligibility for Tatkaal Scheme:

Please note: Discretion of processing of Tatkaal applications rests with the High Commission and its respective Consulates. The application may be put on hold by the Passport Issuing Authorities if not found fit for Tatkaal service even if it falls under the eligibility criteria. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
