Ambedkar Jayanti Celebrations in London

High Commissioner of India to the U.K.-Mr. Y. K. Sinha, Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Dinesh K Patnaik and other senior officers of the High Commission paid homage to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar at 10 King Henry's Road- the House occupied by the legendary leader from 1921 -1922 .

The 127th Birth Anniversary celebrations of the architect of the Indian Constitution took place at India House, and were attended by a wide range of Indian Community organisations in the UK.

On this occasion, Dr. Ambedkar’s many contributions to law, politics, education, economies and social reform were celebrated.

In his address on the occasion, High Commissioner mentioned that on April 13, 2018 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Dr Ambedkar national memorial, designed to look like the Constitution, at 26, Alipur Road. This is the place where Dr. #Ambedkar  passed away on December 6, 1956. The Indian Government has taken numerous initiatives for commemoration and recall of Babasaheb. High Commisioner said that Dr. Ambedkar stood for an egalitarian society and is an icon for all Indians. The values he stood for can be used even today to fight against the challenges that our world faces today.
